Duas Ilhas
ARTISTS Kandyê Medina (BR), Julia Soares (BR), Katxerê Medina (BR), Oscar Svanelid (BR), Henrique Iwao (BR)
Duas Ilhas is a contemporary dance performance with sound and video installations creating landscapes that bring together ideas of the beginning and resumption of a long gone past that is still imagined as present present, opening up different world views, and different kinds of beings.
The work inhabits a place where language is at rest, but where it simultaneously explodes in crying synthetic signals of irrational and complete materiality, coming from even the smallest details and at infinite speed.
Duas Ilhas is made of a collaboration between the dancers and choreographers Kandyê Medina and Julia Salaroli (Cais Coletivo), the videoartist Katxerê Medina and Oscar Svanelid (CKAOS Coletivo) and the composer Henrique Iwao. It had its research and montage made in an artistic residence at the state of Pará, in Amazonas (Brazil) with the support of Prêmio Funarte de Dança Klauss Vianna.
